1. The North Star is not the brightest star in the sky as is commonly thought. This title belongs to Sirius, the Dog Star. Sirius is found at the lower left corner of Orion in the constellation Canis Major-Orion's Dog.

2. Ever wonder why it is sometimes windy at the top of a mountain, or in between two very tall buildings, or why a river seems to speed up when constricted? This is known as the Venturi Effect. When a fluid or gas is pushed into a constriction it is forced to increase velocity in order for the flow rate to remain constant. In the case of the mountain top the air or wind is constricted between the landmass itself and a layer of the atmosphere.
